The arrangement was said to have been reached several weeks ago and kept tightly under wraps while the future of elections at the ANFP became clearer.

The pact remains on hold until the ANFP's internal situation is resolved following the upcoming elections.

Betis say they are unaware of any such agreement and note that Pellegrini is under contract until June 2027.
