Roma may be looking to re-evaluate Albanian defender Marash Kumbulla ahead of next season.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Marash Kumbulla is ready to return to Roma with a clear objective: to make himself available to the new coach Gian Piero Gasperini and try to carve out a space for himself in the Giallorossi squad for the 2025/2026 season.

The Albanian defender, returning from a loan at Espanyol, wants to be evaluated by the former Atalanta coach during the summer preseason training in Trigoria.

Only after a direct meeting with the technical staff, and based on the club’s strategies, will his future be decided.

Should Roma opt for a transfer, Kumbulla will only consider mid-level European destinations, with clubs like Espanyol that represent the type of team the player likes.
