This recent victory over RCD Mallorca was a big one for FC Barcelona. Beyond just the fact that the Catalan giants managed to get all three points with a commanding scoreline, it was also a special occasion for Marc Bernal.

Bernal came on as a late substitute but left his mark. While his overall performance was already impressive, he finished the game with a goal, which was his first senior goal for Barcelona.

This goal, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, was one that was quite special for the youngster. Beyond just showcasing his impressive strength and composure to score it, his subsequent celebration made it clear enough that it meant a lot to him.

Celebrating by kissing his fist and pointing to the sky, it was a goal dedicated to his family members who were no longer with him. Moreover, his celebration was reportedly also dedicated to all his close family members and friends who have helped him through a very tough period in his life while he was recovering from his ACL injury.

Having been sidelined for more than a year, his gradual return to the first team’s dynamics were a big step for him. For that reason, he also dedicated this debut goal to Hansi Flick and the rest of the coaching staff for never giving up on him and continuing to trust him.

Now, as the season continues to go on, Marc Bernal is doing his best to repay that trust. His performances have been commendable at every stage, and this recent goal might just be the most obvious indication that he is finding his best version again.
