Atlético Madrid are close to signing Marc Domènech on loan with an option to buy, pending a medical in Madrid. Fabrizio Romano reports a verbal agreement with Mallorca. Whether Diego Pablo Simeone uses him now or as a future bet remains open.

Born in Llucmajor on one December 2006, the striker hit 21 goals for San Francisco in the División de Honor Juvenil in 2023-24. In 2024-25 he stepped up with Mallorca B, playing 26 Segunda Federación games and scoring nine.

He debuted in LaLiga on 27 August 2024 against Sevilla, aged 17. Across 2024-25 and 2025-26 he played 17 top-flight matches for Mallorca, starting five, for 517 minutes and one assist, without a goal.

Mallorca loaned him to AD Ceuta in January 2026, yielding eight Segunda appearances, two starts and a goal against Granada. A muscle tear in early May against Sporting de Gijón ended that stint and he returned to recover.

A direct jump into Simeone’s attack would be demanding, with Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth already in place. Atlético Madrileño, coached by Fernando Torres, offers another route in Primera Federación and starts the season on 29-30 August against Juventud Torremolinos.

Mallorca renewed Domènech in July 2024 through to 2029. With games across three senior tiers, he still needs continuity, and the staff will choose between first-team minutes now or development time with Atlético Madrileño.
