Centre-back did not play against Serbia
Marc Guehi has pulled out of the England squad through injury.
The Crystal Palace defender arrived for the November camp as an injury doubt and has been monitored daily by medical staff after suffering a bruised ankle.
He took no part in Thursday’s 2-0 win over Serbia at Wembley in which England kept up their 100 per cent record in World Cup qualifying Group K.
But the FA revealed Friday lunchtime that Guehi had not recovered in time to feature in their final qualifier in Albania on Sunday and so had left the camp and returned to Palace.
There will be no replacements named for the match in Tirana and head coach Thomas Tuchel continues to prepare for England’s final game of the calendar year with the remaining 24 players.
A squad of 23 players can be named for the match itself.
Guehi’s injury leaves John Stones, Ezri Konsa, Dan Burn, Trevoh Chalobah and Jarrell Quansah as the remaining central defenders in the Three Lions’ squad for this international camp.
Guehi’s absence will also come as a blow to Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace, with the Eagles returning to Premier League action at Wolves after the international break.
The timeline on the defender’s recovery is yet to be revealed, but he could also miss crucial games against Strasbourg in the Europa Conference League, as well as a home encounter with Manchester United.
Moving into December, Palace have three away trips on the spin at Burnley, Fulham and Shelbourne.
It could leave the south Londoners light in central defence, with summer signing Jaydee Canvot a potential replacement for the Eagles’ skipper.
