Marcelo Delgado, the sole member of Boca’s Football Council, says Claudio Úbeda’s future as head coach remains undecided and under review.

"We are analysing that, we are in permanent meetings with the president and evaluating everything. Beyond Claudio’s continuity, putting together pre-season, reinforcements, some lads who could leave, more than 20 players are coming back from loans and we are working on a lot of things," Delgado told La Red.

The debate intensified after Boca’s Torneo Clausura exit to Racing and the substitution of Exequiel Zeballos, which proved decisive.

"With the benefit of hindsight one can analyse differently and draw many conclusions. It was a tight, difficult match, but the coach makes decisions and maybe he told me afterwards that Chango was tired. Perhaps he got it wrong given how the game unfolded, but it has already happened," he said.

"We need to take stock of the positives, what was done well and badly, and recover," he added. "Then start putting everything together for next year."

At the final training session before the squad were given leave, the players backed the coaching staff to continue, and captain Leandro Paredes apologised for his gestures during the change of Zeballos for Alan Velasco, having been upset at the decision.
