Marcelo Lomba has signed a new Palmeiras deal running to the end of 2026. He has been at the club since 2022 and has lifted seven trophies, including three Paulistas, two Brasileiros, the Recopa Sul-Americana and the Supercopa do Brasil.

According to Nosso Palestra, Abel Ferreira plans to rotate the goalkeepers across competitions this year, particularly between Carlos Miguel and Weverton. The squad currently also includes Lomba.

Lomba has played 28 games for Palmeiras, with 12 clean sheets and 24 goals conceded, an average of 0.85. He said he is delighted to stay, sees the club as part of his family, and aims to give his best every day.

He added that anticipating opportunities, working hard and giving team-mates confidence are central to his role. Leadership and imposing standards, he said, help build a solid, competitive and winning side.

Signed in mid 2025, Carlos Miguel finished the season as starter after Weverton’s hand injury and impressed late on in the Brasileiro and the Conmebol Libertadores. Weverton is seeking to regain his place, has attracted interest in this window, including from Grêmio, and has an offer to extend to the end of 2027. His current deal runs to December 2026.
