According to Bild, Werder Bremen defender Marco Friedl is close to signing a contract extension.
Although they are yet to reach an agreement on the finer details, the 24-year-old Austrian is expected to sign an extension until at least 2025 with the newly-promoted Bundesliga club.

Friedl’s current deal expires in 2023 and at one point, a departure from the Weserstadion had been a possibility.
