Marco Reus is under contract with LA Galaxy until the end of next year, but the club is eager to keep him even longer.

The club’s general manager, Tom Braun, explained to Ruhr Nachrichten that Reus remains a hugely significant player:

Marco has played a massive role in our successes. He helped us win the title last year and we’re delighted to have him with us.

Arriving in 2024, Reus won the MLS in his very first season. This year, Galaxy missed out on the playoffs, but the club is counting on the 36-year-old German to help them bounce back. Talks to extend his contract have already begun. Braun emphasized his importance:

When a player like Marco Reus joins MLS, it’s a major event. His qualities speak for themselves. The fans love him and he does a lot for the club and the community.

It looks like Marco Reus will be staying in Los Angeles for a while longer.
