Marco Silva plays down Benfica talk, focus remains on Fulham

Marco Silva has played down links to Benfica, insisting his focus remains on Fulham.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Fulham coach is at the end of his contract and was pressed on reports placing him on Benfica’s shortlist. José Mourinho’s future at Benfica, including a possible renewal, remains under debate.

Silva said his future is not the priority while his deal runs down, noting there is plenty of speculation around him.

He stressed he would only speak about Fulham and said he is proud to represent the club, now in his fifth season. He added the club want him and his staff to stay and to continue the project, which he described as logical and normal.

As for anything beyond that, he said decisions would be made once the season is over.
