Marco Silva has ruled out a January exit for Harry Wilson, dealing a blow to Leeds United’s hopes of a mid-season swoop.
According to Leeds Live, Leeds were close to signing the Wales international on deadline day last summer, only for the deal to collapse. He is into the final months of his contract and has eight goals and five assists in 24 appearances this season.
Silva said there is zero chance of Wilson leaving in January, adding that Fulham are taking the best from him while talks continue with his representatives. He noted the stance stands despite noise around potential bids.
Leeds have collected 11 points from their last eight games to aid their battle against relegation. They are seeking reinforcements to keep that run going and are set to welcome Facundo Buonanotte to Elland Road.
The Argentine spent the first half of the season on loan at Chelsea from Brighton and made seven appearances. He previously held talks with Leeds before the Blues stepped in.
Daniel Farke said there is no need to fear quality, especially for wide or number 10 roles, but he does not expect wholesale changes. He suggested one, two, perhaps three additions, and warned against letting the group become too big.
In departures, Harry Gray has joined Rotherham United on loan for the rest of the season. Jack Harrison looks set for a temporary move to Fiorentina, with the finer points still being finalised.
