Marco Silva has confirmed Kevin is set to miss several weeks with a foot injury that may require surgery, describing it as serious before Sunday’s home match against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Hounslow Herald, the Brazilian hobbled off during the 3-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday, and the club will find out on Monday whether the 23-year-old needs an operation.

Silva said the issue affects the fifth metatarsal and that the winger will be out for a spell. He labelled the setback a big blow for Fulham and for Kevin.

The forward had begun to find consistency after a slow start in west London following his £35m move from Shakhtar Donetsk, a club record fee. A stunning strike at Old Trafford had headlined a run of solid displays.

Silva added that in the 40 minutes Kevin played at Sunderland he was probably among the best performers on the pitch.

There was some encouragement for the weekend, with midfielder Sasa Lukic and forward Samuel Chukwueze back in contention after brief injury absences. Lukic has missed the last few games, Chukwueze just one.
