Marco Silva will be unveiled as Benfica's new head coach at 17:00 on Friday 12 June at the Museu Cosme Damião.
The announcement was made by the club's communications director, Pedro Pinto, who appeared alongside president Rui Costa in the Estádio da Luz press room, where Costa took questions from reporters.
Senior figures from the club are set to attend the ceremony.
Although the presentation is still to come, Silva has already begun planning for next season. He has visited the Benfica Campus to assess the squad and shape the strategy for the months ahead as pre-season nears.
He met Mário Branco, director-general for football, and Patrick Dippel, the club's chief scout, to review contracted players and identify potential needs for the transfer window.
Silva returns to Portugal's top tier after 11 years. His last job in the country was at Sporting in 2014/15, when he won the Taça de Portugal and finished third in the Primeira Liga.
