Manchester United were forced to loan out several members of the bomb squad in the summer.

Not everyone is enjoying life away from Old Trafford, with Jadon Sancho’s struggles continuing, this time at Aston Villa.

Marcus Rashford, after some initial difficulties, looks to be finally settling into life at Barcelona, scoring three times while also registering five assists in 10 games across all competitions.

Despite the club’s recent inconsistent form, the Carrington graduate has kept shining and even picked up the Man of the Match award in the recent defeat at the hands of Sevilla.

There were talks of the Catalans not being happy with the Mancunian and were even considering terminating his loan contract.

The La Liga side have an option to buy him for €30 million in 2026 and as per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Barca are considering keeping him at the club.

As for the player himself, it was always his dream to move to the Catalan giants, and so far, he is enjoying life at Camp Nou.

“For Marcus Rashford there’s no obligation to buy, it’s a loan with a buy option for €30 million. This is the fee incase Barcelona decide to sign Rashford in summer 2026.

“I say decide because being no obligation is Barca deciding what they want to do at the end of the season, but they’re very happy with Rashford. Rashford is very happy with the situation, I can tell you Rashford is very happy with the city, with the league, with the club, with the manager and with the teammates.

Next summer plans

“Rashford isn’t even thinking about a United return from the loan and maybe make it again at Man United one day, the full focus is on Barcelona.

“The feeling internally at Barcelona is positive with the behaviour of Marcus Rashford, not just the performances. I think there is a very good chance to see Barcelona and Rashford continue in the future but it will depend on several factors.”

There were rumours that the Spanish side would eventually look to sign him for less than the option price, but INEOS are likely to resist given the forward’s form.

He has no future under Ruben Amorim, and a permanent exit would certainly suit all parties.
