Marcus Rashford is set to be re-integrated at Manchester United after the ongoing World Cup in North America.
According to The Guardian, the forward is expected to start next season as part of Michael Carrick’s squad.
United’s preference would be to sell Rashford this summer to ease their wage burden, with the England international’s yearly salary amounting £17.5m.
But the club are struggling to find requisite suitors for the 28-year-old, and it appears he will be playing for the Red Devils again next season.
Rashford spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Barcelona after falling out of favour at Old Trafford.
He impressed with his performances during his short spell, bagging 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
But the Spanish giants opted against triggering the £26 million option to sign him permanently.
Instead, they landed Rashford’s fellow England team-mate Anthony Gordon in a deal worth £69m.
Rashford has made no secret of his desire to re-join Barcelona, but a return to Camp Nou looks unlikely.
The United academy graduate is currently on World Cup duty, with England preparing for their quarter-final clash with Norway on Saturday.
He has featured in four games for the Three Lions and scored a goal against Croatia.
United’s pre-season starts on Thursday and they will play their first game with Wrexham on July 18.
The Red Devils also have friendlies against Rosenborg, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Leeds United and AC Milan before their opening Premier League fixture at Hull City on August 22.
