Marcus Rashford has now arrived at FC Barcelona and is already active within the team. Beyond just the fact that he has already made his debut for his new team, he continues to adapt to Hansi Flick’s demands. For Barcelona, Rashford’s determination is already great to see.
Moreover, it seems that he has familiarised himself with the club and what is expected of him. In a recent interview, he was even asked about various things, ranging from his ambitions at the club to even his whole registration issue.
As quoted by SPORT, the Barcelona forward made it clear that he is fully aware of what being at the club means:
“I accept the challenge that comes with playing for Barça.”
As for his grander ambitions, such as winning the UEFA Champions League and building on what the team did last season, Rashford gave a confident response:
“Of course, it’s every player’s dream to win the Champions League. Last season was very good, but we’ll try to improve on that by winning that title.”
He also highlighted his own versatility as a strength of his that could help Hansi Flick’s side if needed:
“I can play in different positions and score goals from any of them. It’s about creating chances from various areas and taking advantage of them.”
The English player was also asked to speak about the quality of the other players at Barcelona, and he was full of praise for them and the team’s overall intensity:
“There are many great players, but I already knew them before coming here. The quality is very high, the intensity too, and that’s what we have to maintain throughout the season.”
However, when addressing the issue of his registration, Marcus Rashford placed his trust on Barcelona and stated that it remains the club’s job to sort that out while he focuses on delivering on the pitch:
“I’m not worried. That’s something the club has to sort out, and I trust they will. I’m focused on training and being ready for the start of the competition.”
The Manchester United loanee also made it clear that he understands what the coaching staff expects and that he looks forward to helping out the team in whatever way he can:
“I think the coach wants me to enjoy playing football. All coaches want us to produce on the pitch: for the forwards to score goals, work hard, and also defend. I’m looking forward to showing all of that on the field and making a positive impact for the team.”
So far, Rashford has looked sharp in the two preseason friendlies that he has played. His next challenge will now arrive in the form of Daegu FC, and it seems almost certain that he will get to make another appearance for the club.
