Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford returned to form with a bang last night.

Incredible double

The England forward has had a steady start to his FC Barcelona career without really pulling up any trees.

He grabbed an assist at the weekend in his side’s 6-0 demolition of CF Valencia but he really took off last night.

Rashford scored both of Barca’s goals as they beat Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James’ Park.

The first was a fine header but the second was a stunning strike that gave Nick Pope no chance in the Newcastle goal.

United reaction

His captain at United Bruno Fernandes posted an image of Rashford’s unbelievable second strike on Instagram.

Under the photo Fernandes posted a trio of emojis: two mind-blown and a stunned face wedged between them.

It was a goal that Fernandes will have seen plenty of times in the red of United but perhaps not many were expecting to see in 2025 playing for Barcelona in the Champions League.

His former teammate Jadon Sancho, who is now at Aston Villa on loan, also reacted to Rashford’s heroics.

The English winger posted the clip of Rashford’s opener on his Instagram story with a fire emoji and a salute.

When the second goal was scored, Sancho added even more emojis.

United will be hoping that Rashford can continue this form as they will want Barcelona to take up the £30.3 million option to sign the player permanently next summer.

Nonetheless, there will be a certain section of the fans wondering if in another world, the academy graduate would be firing in efforts like this for United in Europe.

Rashford will next be in action when Barcelona face Getafe on Sunday evening.
