Marcus Thuram (28) will miss out on the October international break with France. The centre-forward has sustained a left biceps femoris muscle injury during the Nerazzurri‘s Champions League 3-0 home win over Slavia Prague on Tuesday. Inter Milan have confirmed that the eldest son of Lilian Thuram has undergone medical tests this Wednesday, which showed a hamstring strain.
Thuram will be reassessed next week. The centre-forward won’t be called up by Didier Deschamps tomorrow. The France national team manager will announce on Thursday his squad for Les Bleus’ next two games. France will continue their campaign to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. They are currently top of Group D. France will host Azerbaijan on Friday, October 10 before facing Iceland three days later, at Reykjavik.
Thuram is the latest attacking player to miss out as Deschamps won’t be able to rely on Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué or Rayan Cherki.
