Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has refused to be drawn into speculation over Rodri's future or a possible move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, insisting his focus is firmly on Sunday's Community Shield final.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Maresca acknowledged that the transfer window remains open and that departures and arrivals are still possible, but revealed he had seen Rodri at the club's training ground on Friday.

"First of all, the transfer window is open; we can buy players, we can sell players, anything can happen," Maresca said.

"I just saw Rodri now in the building, I gave him a big hug, he looks good, so we'll see what happens."

Rodri has been linked with a potential move to Barcelona, while City have also been credited with an interest in Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez.

Maresca admitted City could still strengthen their squad before the deadline but stressed that preparations for his first final as manager were his immediate priority.

"For sure, there are things we need to do [in the transfer market]," he said. "It can be one, can be two, it depends also if players are going to leave."

He added: "There are 48 hours until a Final, my first Final in this club. My focus is how we can prepare in the best way for the game and try to win the Final."

Asked specifically about Fernandez, Maresca declined to discuss a player contracted to another club.

"It's a player from another club and I don't think it's correct to speak about other players," he said. "At the same time, I don't think it's correct when other clubs speak about our players. That's why I'm not going to say anything about players that are not with us."

City face Arsenal in the Community Shield on Sunday, with Maresca hoping to lift his first trophy since taking charge of the club.
