Marino Hinestroza has moved up the pecking order at Vasco under Pedro Emanuel and could make his first start on Tuesday against Santa Fe in the Copa Sudamericana.

According to Globo.com, Andrés Gómez and Adson have been rested due to workload and Colidio is unavailable for the competition, making the Colombian a leading option on the right.

Emanuel’s tenure has revived players who had dipped in form, including Paulo Henrique, Cuesta, Lucas Piton and Tchê Tchê, and Marino has responded better in daily work. After the defeat to Fluminense, the coach said Marino earned space by changing his approach in training.

He stressed that opportunities are earned through consistent work and understanding the team’s needs, adding that belief and demonstrating importance to the side open the door to more minutes.
