One of Ligue 1’s most active clubs on the transfer market this summer, Olympique de Marseille have inquired about Armand Laurienté’s (25) availability to Sassuolo, reveals Foot Mercato.

With Roberto de Zerbi’s nomination as the club’s new manager, Marseille are set for a full squad overhaul this summer. Star players and regular starters such as Pau Lopez (29), Chancel Mbemba (29) and Ismaila Sarr (26) have all been frozen out by the Italian tactician, and the Southern side have already registered the arrivals of standout players such as Mason Greenwood (22) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (28). While the recruitment of a new goalkeeper is reportedly Marseille’s top priority, Les Phocéens would be keen on strengthening their offensive unit. Recently linked to the return of Alexis Sanchez (35), who is available on a free transfer following his contract expiry at Inter Milan, Marseille are reportedly targeting another Ligue 1’s familiar face.

According to a report by Foot Mercato, Marseille have recently opened talks with Sassuolo over a potential transfer of Laurienté. The former FC Lorient and Stade Rennais winger enjoyed a season of ups and downs. Despite logging five goals and four assists, the right-footed couldn’t prevent his club’s surprising relegation from Serie A. While Sassuolo have placed a €15M-€20M on their talented winger, Laurienté is gathering interest from all around Europe, with Lazio, José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and Premier League outfits also eyeing a move for the 25-year-old. According to the French outlet, Laurienté is just a name among others on Marseille’s shortlist, and they are yet to make a formal offer for the player tied until 2027 with the Neroverdi.
