Marseille are considering a move for Bologna manager Vincenzo Italiano as they look to restructure for next summer following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.
According to Calciomercato IT, the French giants have identified Italiano as a primary candidate to lead the team next season. The move comes after De Zerbi was sacked, leaving a vacancy that the Ligue 1 club is eager to fill with a profile capable of implementing an attacking philosophy.
Marseille sporting director Mehdi Benatia is a big fan of Italiano and is driving the interest in the former Fiorentina coach.
Italiano could leave Bologna at the end of the current campaign as things are not going particularly well at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. Furthermore, if there is no agreement reached over a contract renewal, his departure becomes even more likely. While he is currently focused on the Rossoblù’s season, the lure of a project in Marseille backed by Benatia could prove decisive in his decision-making process for 2026.
