As PSG chase back-to-back Champions League titles against Arsenal in Budapest on Saturday at 18:00, many Marseille supporters are unmoved. Plenty plan to skip the final.
According to L'Équipe, OM fans are weary of being quizzed about their rivals. They revelled in August 2020 when PSG lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, then looked glum in May 2025 after the 5-0 win over Inter Milan.
Ricou, 51, avoids PSG matches and says only OM matters. He thinks Paris could win given Qatar’s power in Europe, yet says it would leave him cold and wants his club to recover.
Sophie, from the Dodgers, will half-watch while reading a crime novel. She would prefer PSG not add a second star, argues the spend makes it unexceptional, and credits Luis Enrique for building a proper team.
Her two sons will watch at home, one an Arsenal fan, the other simply hoping Paris lose, with any Arsenal goal celebrated as if it were OM.
Rodolphe Tapie-Michaux, grandson of Bernard, will tune in after Perpignan v Castres in the Top 14, following from a beach in Canet-en-Roussillon. He will sympathise with Arsenal, says the rivalry is dwarfed by the resources gap, and the result will not define his evening. He adds he would be less irritated than last year if Paris win, remains proud OM were the first, and believes their joy will return.
