Marseille look to retain three players

Get French Football News understands that every player at Olympique de Marseille – bar none – is available for the right price this summer. The club overspent under Roberto De Zerbi and the purse strings are to be tightened.

It was confirmed by the DNCG, French football’s financial watchdog, that their transfer activity would be monitored by authorities, with their wage bill also managed by the watchdog. There are particularly bankable assets that OM are looking to sell, such as Mason Greenwood, but Get French Football News understands that players such as Igor Paixao, who they would ideally like to keep, could be offloaded if a strong offer arrives.

Onze Mondial reports that there are three other players that Marseille are looking to retain: Facundo Medina, Timothy Weah, and Amine Gouiri. The trio impressed despite Les Phocéens’ difficult campaign, which ended without qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, hence the new period of austerity. However, as is the case for all players, a strong offer cannot be refused when it comes to this trio.
