Faris Moumbagna looks set to make his first start for Olympique de Marseille when they face relegation-threatened FC Metz, however, Gennaro Gattuso’s midfield options remain limited.
Marseille’s players are expected to be given a “cold” welcome when they step out onto the pitch at the Vélodrome on Friday evening. Amongst those expected to start is Moumbagna, the January recruit, who after returning from the AFCON, made his debut in last week’s defeat against rivals Olympique Lyonnais. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is likely to drift out onto the left, with Gattuso expected to deploy a 4-3-3.
However, Gattuso must still contend with absences in midfield with Pape Gueye, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Bilal Nadir, Valentin Rongier and Jordan Veretout all out with injuries. Michael Murillo is also out injured, whilst Chancel Mbemba is yet to return from the AFCON.
