Olympique de Marseille will not see any of their big-name absentees return as they travel to face Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Amine Gouiri was injured while on international duty. Dogged by a shoulder problem, aggravated by a dislocation during Algeria’s win over Uganda, the decision has been taken to undergo surgery, and so he will spend a lengthy period on the sidelines.
Marseille will also be without Facundo Medina, whilst Hamed Junior Traoré, and Geoffrey Kondogbia also miss out on this encounter. It is thought that Roberto De Zerbi will opt to play a back three, with Nayef Aguerd, Leonardo Balerdi, and Benjamin Pavard all starting the encounter.
In the absence of Gouiri up front, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start for Les Phocéens.
