According to Fabrice Hawkins, Olympique de Marseille are set to reopen negotiations with Arsenal to sign Eddie Nketiah (26). Talks between the Ligue 1 club and Premier League club had previously come to a halt due to the asking price set by the Gunners.

OM had turned their attentions to Lens forward Elye Wahi after talks with the North London club collapsed. After having an offer of €20m rejected, Les Phocéens submitted an improved offer of €26m hoping to find an agreement with their divisional rivals. However, this bid had also been rejected and talks between the two clubs have come to a stop, Hawkins reports.

As they hope to reinforce their attacking options, Marseille have now returned to their original target Nketiah. Arsenal have lowered their asking price from €35m to €25m meaning that a deal between the two is now possible with the pricetag close to Les Olympiens’ valuation of the English striker.
