Olympique de Marseille have entered crisis mode after their 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday. Questions now surround Roberto De Zerbi as well as the hierarchy. Sporting director Medhi Benatia has already hinted at a departure in the near future.

De Zerbi, who linked his own future to Benatia’s, said he did not expect his colleague to leave this summer. According to La Provence, however, Benatia could depart at the end of the season.

His relationship with club president Pablo Longoria has deteriorated.

Relations with the OM dressing room have also frayed, with complaints about his management and communication.

Benatia’s position at the Vélodrome is therefore increasingly unstable. Any exit would still depend on him leaving on his own terms.
