According to Fabrizio Romano, Olympique de Marseille have submitted an offer for Boca Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Fernández (21).
Having secured the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi as manager, Marseille are now looking to strengthen their playing squad. Ismaël Koné and Lilian Brassier have already arrived at the club, whilst players such as Mason Greenwood and Youcef Atal are also being targeted as they look to get back into Europe this season.
Romano understands that a bid has also been submitted for Argentina youth international Fernández, however, there has yet to be a response. The player himself is keen on the move but Boca Juniors, who have already rejected an approach from FC Porto, may be less willing to sanction a departure.
RMC Sport understands that De Zerbi is a particular fan of Fernández, who the Italian manager believes is also capable of playing as a defender. De Zerbi believes that OM are currently lacking that profile.
