Marseille face Monaco in Ligue 1 at the Vélodrome on Sunday, with the hosts looking to cement a Champions League spot and the visitors targeting a climb towards Europe.
Marseille are third on 29 points, while Monaco sit seventh with 23. The recent head to head has been split: Monaco won 3-0 in April, but Marseille edged the last Vélodrome meeting 2-1 in December 2024.
Les Olympiens arrive with three wins in their last five across competitions, including a 5-1 statement victory at Nice and a Champions League win over Newcastle United. Les Rouge et Blanc have been up and down, beating Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray but losing at Rennes and Brest, with a draw at Pafos in between.
Amine Gouiri, Hamed Junior Traoré and Facundo Medina remain out for the hosts, while the visitors are without Ansu Fati.
Les Phocéens have scored 35 league goals at 2.3 per game and conceded only 15. Mason Greenwood leads the Ligue 1 scoring chart with 10, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has supplied five assists. Les Rouge et Blanc have scored 26 and conceded 26 with just two clean sheets this season, so Marseille could look to test that defence, while Monaco may lean on Lamine Camara and Maghnes Akliouche to feed Mika Biereth, Takumi Minamino and Aleksandr Golovin.
A win would take Les Olympiens to 32 points and strengthen their grip on the top four. Three points for Les Rouge et Blanc would move them to 26 and could push them closer to the European places.
