Olympique de Marseille’s women will play their first-ever match at the Stade Vélodrome on 28 March, hosting Montpellier HSC at 18:30 on Matchday 19 of the Première Ligue. The club announced the historic fixture.

Les Marseillaises have never previously contested a competitive game at the 67,000-capacity stadium. Entry will be free, with tickets to be reserved via the club’s official platform.

OM’s women’s side was founded in 1920, then dissolved in 1986. It was reinstated in 2011 and has moved between the first and second divisions since.

Corinne Diacre’s team are ninth in the top flight after winning promotion from the second tier last season.

Following the example of OL Lyonnes, Marseille became the second French club to complete a full rebrand as Les Marseillaises.
