In search of a new manager after parting ways with Roberto De Zerbi, Olympique de Marseille approached Xabi Alonso. But the Spaniard has turned down the offer, according to RMC Sport.

Despite a successful debut season under De Zerbi, which ended with a second-place finish in Ligue 1, momentum faded this year, leading to the Italian coach’s early exit. Amid internal upheaval, notably the departure of sporting director Medhi Benatia, Xabi Alonso is reportedly unwilling to join what he considers an unstable environment.

Marseille’s search continues. Among the names mentioned are Habib Beye, who recently managed Stade Rennais FC, and Sérgio Conceição, currently in charge of Al-Ittihad Club. The managerial situation at Marseille remains wide open.
