Himad Abdelli has emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders in Ligue 1 this season, with Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais both monitoring the Angers SCO playmaker. However, Marseille have yet to make an official offer.
Abdelli’s current contract with Angers expires at the end of the season, making him an attractive target for clubs looking to strengthen without committing to a large transfer fee. According to Téléfoot (TF1), both Marseille and Lyon have held internal discussions about a potential move, but neither club has yet reached an agreement with the SCO.
While Lyon have reportedly opened talks, negotiations have progressed slowly. Marseille, meanwhile, are yet to formalise their interest. Sporting director Mehdi Benatia is keen to move quickly, but as things stand, no official bid has been submitted by the Phocaean club.Angers are believed to be holding out for a fee of over €4m, despite the player being available on a free transfer in the summer. That valuation has complicated talks, with both Marseille and Lyon reluctant to overpay for a player entering the final six months of his contract.GFFN | George Boxall
