Marseille’s mounting injury list has grown, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg forced off early in Denmark’s win over Wales on Sunday night.
GetFootballNewsFrance.com reports the midfielder was withdrawn with what appeared to be a thigh issue.
He lasted only 10 minutes, a fresh concern for the club.
It has been a bruising international window for Marseille. Derek Cornelius suffered a hip injury with Canada and is not expected to feature again in 2026.
Amine Gouiri and Himad Abdellli also picked up injuries, although both are expected to be available against ESTAC Troyes next weekend.
Marseille lack options in midfield. There is hope Tochukwu Nnadi could return next weekend, while Geoffrey Kondogbia has still not reappeared.
Depending on the severity of Hojbjerg’s problem, a young and inexperienced pivot could start against L’ESTAC.
