Orlando Pride lifted their first National Womenâs Soccer League Shield on Sunday after beating second-place Washington Spirit 2-0.
Star veteran and Brazil legend Marta led the celebrations after the full-time whistle, finally lifting the trophy while wearing purple after joining in 2017.
Holding the all-time goals and appearance record, it was fitting that her penalty went down as the winning goal for the clubâs first piece of silverware.
Tara McKeownâs own goal secured the hostsâ victory in front of 7,729 fans.
