Martial Godo dreams of the World Cup with Côte d'Ivoire
In an interview with Canal+ Sport, Martial Godo expressed his strong desire to play at the World Cup with the Elephants, the Côte d'Ivoire national team.
Martial Godo is shining this season in the Strasbourg jersey. The 22-year-old winger has scored 7 goals and provided an assist in 18 Ligue 1 matches. His remarkable development and standout performances are pushing the former Fulham star to rethink his ambitions.
World Cup ambitions? Yes, of course! At the start of the season, I wasn't even thinking about it, I never imagined I'd be part of these conversations. But now, it's become my main goal. It would be an incredible moment of pride.
The left winger confirmed that he has spoken with coach Emerse Faé.
I spoke with him. Not necessarily about a call-up to the national team, but he just wanted to know some information. We talked, and my mother also spoke with him.
Martial Godo previously played for England's youth teams. In 2025, he switched his sporting nationality and joined Côte d'Ivoire's U23 squad.
