Arsenal return to action on Sunday when they play Wigan Athletic in their FA Cup fourth-round tie at Emirates Stadium, and the Gunners have released images from their recent training sessions.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta received a timely boost as Max Dowman was pictured with the North Londoners’ senior team for the first time since injuring his ankle back in December.
French centre-back William Saliba, who missed the Brentford game on Thursday due to illness, was also back in training but Martin Odegaard was missing from the pictures.
A huge injury scare emerged concerning the Arsenal captain after he was seen limping heavily as he made his way through the mixed zone and back onto the Gunners team bus after the game on Thursday night.
Nothing has been reported concerning his fitness since then, but it appears he could be unavailable for the game tomorrow.
It is unknown whether Odegaard indeed missed training yesterday or was available.
However, Arteta has nothing to hide from Wigan and the Norwegian could actually be injured.
Dowman returning is a huge boost but whether he is ready to be involved tomorrow remains to be seen.
Wigan are currently 22nd in the 24-team League One and are unlikely to pose any threat to Arsenal.
The Gunners are looking to win the quadruple this term, and they will fancy their chances of progressing to the fifth round for the first time since winning the FA Cup in 2020.
They return to Premier League action on Wednesday with a trip to Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers before visiting Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday for a highly-anticipated North London derby.
Arsenal will hope to have Odegaard available for the trip should he miss tomorrow’s game as they could do with his creativity with Eberechi Eze struggling at the moment.
