Martin Ødegaard has moved clear of Arsenal legend Patrick Viera with his latest Premier League assist.

The Gunners found themselves a goal down in the first half of their meeting with Bournemouth after defender Gabriel gifted the hosts an opener early doors.

However, the Brazilian was quick to make amends for his error as he fired his side back on level terms shortly after.

Then, it was Declan Rice who scored the crucial goal to put Arsenal ahead for the first time in the match, and it was none other than Ødegaard who set him up early in the second half.

The assist moves Ødegaard onto 34 Premier League assists for Arsenal, one more than Viera managed during his time at the club.

In fact, the Norway international has done so in 114 fewer appearances, and he is now just five behind matching Robin Van Persie's tally of 39.

Interestingly, three of Ødegaard's last five assists in the Premier League have been for Rice, according to Squawka.

Rice wasn't finished there, either, as he bagged a second goal shortly after to certainly put the result beyond doubt, this time set up by substitute Bukayo Saka.

In doing so, the midfielder scored his first-ever brace in the competition on what is his 296th appearance in the competition.
