Celtic’s post-split fixture calendar kicks off tomorrow evening (Saturday, April 25, KO: 5.30pm) when Falkirk come to Celtic Park on league duty.
The Hoops have defeated John McGlynn’s side in all four of the sides’ previous meetings this season, and another victory this weekend would mean another massive three points in the context of the title race for Martin O’Neill’s men.
Celtic go in to tomorrow’s game on the back of a dramatic and, ultimately, emphatic 6-2 win against St Mirren in last weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.
Falkirk took on Dunfermline in the other semi-final, with Neil Lennon’s side winning on penalties, ending any hopes that Falkirk had of ending their positive season with silverware to show for their efforts.
Speaking to the media at Lennoxtown ahead of the match, Martin O’Neill said he is preparing for a difficult match against Falkirk whom he expects will still be reeling from their Scottish Cup exit.
He said: “I think that they will be really disappointed at not getting to the cup final and they’ll be fully focused on this game.
“The games that we’ve played against them have been really tough, not just the away game at Falkirk. The matches here have been tough and that’s exactly what I expect.”
