The duo have spent this season on the sidelines, and Martin O’Neill had already indicated that their recoveries were likely to be lengthy.
That expectation has now been confirmed, with the interim Hoops boss acknowledging that both CCV and Jota – both heavily missed during a turbulent season – will not feature again before the campaign concludes.

Speaking via Celtic TV’s behind the paywall update with O’Neill, the Irishman said: “You mentioned Jota and Carter-Vickers. They will not be available to us until next season.” hardly groundbreaking news reporting from Celtic TV, merely confirming what was all already know.
The manager also faced the hard-hitting questions from Gerry McCulloch regarding the fitness of Callum Osmand, who was sidelined earlier this season with a hamstring injury.

The young forward had been handed valuable game time by O’Neill before his progress was halted by the setback.
However, there is now positive news, with O’Neill confirming that the former Fulham prospect is nearing a return after being out of action since November.
“Callum is doing really well, he’s anxious to go and I think he’s been working exceptionally well,” the 74 year-old said. “So, hopefully that won’t be too far.”

Celtic have used the past week to regroup during the ongoing international break, with several first-team players away on duty with their respective countries.
Despite that, O’Neill has continued preparations at Lennoxtown ahead of Sunday’s return to domestic action, when Dundee provide the opposition.
The Celtic boss is confident his team can respond positively following the disastrous defeat at Tannadice a week ago, backing his players to be fully prepared for the challenge posed by Steven Pressley’s side.

O’Neill added: “I thought they played exceptionally well against us in the cup game. We got the late equaliser and then went on to win in extra-time. They played very well.”
“A lot of subsequent games they’ve been well in the picture. They fought back against Dundee United in their derby at 2-0 behind and they’re a strong outfit.”
“Whatever way they approach the game you can’t do anything about that. It’s how we approach it from my viewpoint, and we have to be as strong as them.”
