Martinelli could become latest star to pursue riches of the Saudi Pro League

Gabriel Martinelli is expected to leave Arsenal this summer as he is no longer in the Gunners’ plans for the season, and they have made that obvious.

Galatasaray were the first club to show serious interest in adding him to their squad this summer, but the Brazilian turned them down and insists on staying to fight for his place in the team.

The Gunners need to trim their squad, and his departure would create an opportunity for them to sign another winger before the window closes. However, the attacker is keen to remain in one of the top European leagues.

Arsenal have no issue with that, but no offer is coming from clubs in those leagues, and the Gunners want to ensure quickly that their squad contains only players who will be relevant this season.

With that in mind, Martinelli may have to leave, and he could end up in Saudi Arabia, with Fichajes reporting that Al Hilal want him to join their squad in this window.

The report says they are ready to pay Arsenal 50m euros for his signature and would offer him a lucrative deal to join their squad during this transfer window.

That proposal could be tempting to the Brazilian, particularly if his chances of remaining important at Arsenal continue to decrease. However, Martinelli has already shown that he would prefer to remain in Europe by turning down the opportunity to join Galatasaray.

The attacker still wants to compete at the highest level, but his situation at Arsenal could force him to reconsider his options. The Gunners are keen to reduce the size of their squad, and his departure would help them create room for another attacking addition.

Martinelli faces uncertain future

For now, Martinelli remains determined to fight for his place, but Arsenal appear to have made their position clear. If no suitable European offer arrives, a move to Saudi Arabia could become a realistic alternative.
