Inter have their new goalkeeper, because multiple sources suggest Josep Martinez will undergo a medical on Thursday in a €15.5m move from Genoa.
The negotiations have been going on for some weeks and had originally included a player exchange, but Gaetano Oristanio was removed from the package.
Instead, it became a cash-only transfer fee of €13.5m plus up to another €2m in potential add-ons.
Fabrizio Romano, Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com all state the deal is done and Martinez will arrive in Milan tomorrow evening, ready to undergo a medical on Thursday morning.
The two clubs have shaken hands, it is now just down to some final details between the player and Genoa.
The 26-year-old Spaniard joined Genoa in 2022 on loan from RB Leipzig, making the move permanent for €3.5m the next summer after helping them to promotion.
His debut Serie A season was impressive enough to earn interest from the likes of Inter, Manchester United and Bournemouth.
Martinez will effectively be the understudy to Switzerland international goalkeeper Yann Sommer, preparing to take over in future.
