The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club, bringing an end to his United career.

The forward had not played for the Old Trafford club since January 2022 due to serious allegations made against him, which were subsequently dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023, and spent last season on loan at Getafe.

Greenwood’s time in Spain saw him make 36 appearances and score 10 goals, which prompted several clubs, notably Lazio, to pursue a potential deal for him.

However, it is Marseille, and their new manager Roberto De Zerbi, who have landed the one-time capped England international.
