Mason Greenwood ‘to join’ Fenerbahçe after Atletico Madrid cool interest over perceived attitude

Mason Greenwood is set to leave Marseille for Fenerbahçe, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Marseille have long expected to cash in this summer, and the former Manchester United forward is their most valuable asset.

L’Équipe reports that Atletico Madrid were keen but were discouraged by what they perceived as nonchalance. Greenwood is said to have told OM teammates he wanted the move, then took two days to reply to Diego Simeone, after which Atletico withdrew.

Romano says the agreement is €40m plus €2m in add-ons, with Manchester United due €10m via a sell-on clause.

He adds Greenwood will sign a four-year contract worth €10m per season.
