Mason Greenwood hauled Fenerbahçe level with a brilliant solo goal just after the interval, pegging back Lyon in Istanbul in the Champions League play-off first leg on Tuesday.

As reported by L'Équipe, the tie swung following the restart.

Lyon had quietened the crowd late in the first half, Belgian striker Loïs Openda making it 1-0 on 40 minutes.

Greenwood, the former Marseille forward, equalised in the 47th minute after Kerem Aktürkoğlu drifted infield to find him. The Briton, 24, shimmied past Abner Vinicius and drove a superb left-foot shot into the far corner.

His strike re-energised the hosts moments into the second half.
