Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is expected to return to the squad for their Premier League game against Aston Villa tomorrow.

Manager Michael Carrick has received an injury boost ahead of the huge six-pointer.

Mount has trained in recent days, and he is expected to be included in the squad tomorrow.

The 27-year-old last played in mid-January, coming off the bench in the closing stages of the 2-0 win over Manchester City.

Mount has been unavailable for selection in the last six games after suffering a knock in training, but will return tomorrow.

He is unlikely to start given his lack of match fitness, but he could get a chance to make an impact off the bench.

The England international has yet to fully prove himself at United due to injuries, and he needs to show what he can do before the end of the season.

A victory would be huge for Man United as it would move them closer to a top-four finish, and Carrick needs everyone to step up against a tough Villa side.

Lisandro Martinez, Patrick Dorgu and Matthijs de Ligt are the only injured Red Devils players. Martinez is expected to return for the Bournemouth trip next Friday.

De Ligt has been doing gym and rehabilitation work this week, and Man United could have him available in the coming weeks after almost four months out.

They need all their top players available for the remaining games of the season, and Carrick will be hoping for more good news on the injury front.
