The result moves Danny Röhl’s side into 3rd, making it two wins out of three for the German manager. Despite the humiliation in his first game, the former Sheffield Wednesday manager appears to have convinced the players in the Ibrox dressing room that things are improving.

As reported by Record Sport, the ex-Aberdeen midfielder believes that his side are in a good place ahead of the meeting at Hampden. “Of course, we’re massively confident. We’ve had back to back wins so we need to go again. There’s a good feeling in the dressing room now, so we just have to continue with that.

“Do we feel in a better place? Definitely. We’re not getting too carried away with ourselves, we know what we need to do. We will recover from Wednesday and get ready for the weekend.”

After his grandstanding, it transpired that Barron was actually suspended for the game having collected two booking in the last two rounds.
