The striker got over an hour and the youngster played the full 90 minutes as both reached the next stage of their UEFA competitions.

Matanovic was handed a starting place for the League A finale and was involved until the 63rd minute.

Fenyö into elite round

Noah Fenyö also progressed with the Hungary U19 team. Despite losing 2-1 to Germany in their third group match in qualifying for the 2025 European Under-19 Championship in Romania, the Hungarians have made it through to the elite round as group runners-up. Fenyö again played the full game in the centre of defence.

One player who’s already qualified for a tournament next year is Ellyes Skhiri with Tunisia. Despite their 1-0 defeat to Gambia on Monday, the North Africans’ place in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco is secured. Skhiri watched the proceedings from the bench.
