Matarazzo sets intense first week as Real Sociedad start on Saturday | OneFootball

According to Diario Vasco, Real Sociedad will open pre-season on Saturday under Matarazzo with a demanding first week, mindful of a daunting Liga start away at Real Madrid at the Bernabéu and Betis at La Cartuja.

Saturday 4 July is reserved for physical tests, then Sunday 5 brings the first on-pitch session in Zubieta from 11:00, open to supporters.

From there, seven consecutive 11:00 sessions are scheduled in Zubieta, although only Sunday’s will be open. On Saturday 11 July at 11:30, La Real will face Pau FC in a behind-closed-doors workout billed as a joint training session, with no fans or media present.

Sunday 12 is a rest day. The first official and open friendly of pre-season is on Monday 13 July against Racing in Santander, marking Matarazzo’s first warm-up match of his first full campaign after taking charge in January.

The opening week will be without four mundialistas, Oyarzabal, Guedes, Kubo and Sucic, plus the injured Odriozola and Balda. Sanse prospects including Ochieng, Mikel Rodríguez, Carrera, Dani Díaz and Fraga are due to feature, alongside returning loanees Javi López, Goti and Carlos Fernández.
