Brentford Women face a trip to Barking Football Club to take on the Blues in their second London and South East Premier Division away game on Sunday (3pm kick-off).

Following back-to-back league wins against Aylesford and Newhaven, the Bees will look to maintain their fine start to life in tier five.

Carly Williams’ side are back in action on Sunday and will be determined to build on the impressive results from the two games that they have played.

The performances thus far have seen the Bees show two sides to them already, the win against Aylesford a mature performance while the victory against Newhaven highlighted the team's clinical edge.

The new-look squad continues to build its chemistry, Ashley Cheatley reiterating that the potential of the team is high but they need to continue to bond in training and matches.

“There are so many new players in the squad, but they will all be valuable players this season. Everyone is obviously competing for their place in the team but I think it can be friendly and healthy competition," explained Cheatley.

"We all have one goal in mind and that is to continue building on what we started last year, the best way to do that is to be on the same page on the pitch and I believe we are getting there."

Last time out

Brentford played their first home game of the season last weekend with a convincing 4-0 win over Newhaven.

Habeebat Gbajabiamila opened the scoring with a firmly struck volley in the box in her first start of the season.

The lead was doubled by Alissa Down, whose accurate free-kick left the keeper rooted to her spot.

Renai McCrea added the third as she scored her first goal for the west Londoners since joining this summer and Cheatley added the fourth with a calm finish.

Williams' side sit in third on goal difference after two games with Dartford and Saltdean United the only other teams with a 100 per cent record to start the season.

About Barking

The east Londoners finished fifth in the London and South East Premier Division last season, amassing 38 points.
